Being in news for political or commercial reasons or for its association with country's cricket team, Sahara may have emerged as the biggest Indian Brand with its Chairman Subrata Roy claiming the brand value at 10.5 billion dollars or about Rs 48,000 crore.
 
Earlier last month, corporate giant Tatas had claimed the brand of their group companies and products was valued at Rs 24,396 crore, saying possibly they were "head and shoulders above anybody".

1:50 pm : Buying interest was conspicuous in IT scrips on Monday.

Infosys jumped 2.56% to Rs 2,827.00, Satyam Computer rose 2.21% to Rs 785.40, TCS gained 1.03% to Rs 1,685.00 and Wipro was trading 0.53% up at Rs 519.10.

I-Flex Solutions, Moser Baer and Patni Computer were also trading with robust gains, while Mphasis BFL was the only scrip on the BSE IT index trading in the red.

Automobiles
All categories of vehicles should attract the same rate of excise duty at 16 per cent.
Remove an 8 per cent special excise duty on passenger cars, multi-utility vehicles and petrol driven vehicles for transport of goods.
