A fire at a 20,000 bpd refinery run by state firm Indian Oil Corp Ltd in the northeastern state of Assam has shutdown its crude distillation unit (CDU), IOC's director of refineries said on Tuesday.

"There was a small fire last night, it looks like due to a pump seal leak. So we have shutdown the CDU. The rest of the units are working," BN Bankapur said.
