After a rain-delayed start, Sania Mirza's second round match finally got underway against Aiko Nakamura at Melbourne Park. But the Hyderabadi never looked in command, losing the first set 6-3. Nakamura continued her aggressive form through the second set, capitalising on Sania's unforced errors. Nakamura took the second set 6-2 to move in to the third round of the tournament.
