Babloo recounts underworld days in book

Underworld don Babloo Srivastava was notably absent at the launch of his book Adhoora Khwab (Unfulfilled dream) in Lucknow on Friday. Babloo, who is lodged in a Bareilli jail, could not attend the function that coincided with his 43rd birthday, as he was not allowed to leave jail despite a court order giving him permission to attend the event.

UTI Bank has shown a 136% growth in net profit to Rs 109.1 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, ’05, against Rs 46.2 crore in the year-earlier period. For the first half of FY06, the private bank reported a net profit of Rs 202 crore compared with Rs 117 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
