HYDERABAD, FEB 24: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is looking at acquiring producing oil fields in India and overseas in agreement with Oil India.
“We will bid for producing fields over $75 million that will enable us to get fast track clearances from the Indian government. At the moment we are actively looking at two to three companies with over $200 million and it will be through a SPV with Oil India,” revealed IOC chairman,Sarthak Behuria, on the sidelines of the 14th International Aviation Conference here on Friday

A late resurgence helped India register a 2-1 win over Pakistan in the fifth match of the bilateral hockey series here on Friday. With their maiden win after three home losses and a draw, the visitors managed to close the series score to 3-1. The Indians were in control of proceedings for most of today's match as the hosts were guilty of an insipid performance. Despite adopting a cautious approach, the Indians looked the better side in terms of coordination and ball possession.

Nine of the seventeen people accused in the infamous Best Bakery case have been convicted by a Mumbai sessions court. The remaining eight accused were acquitted. In one of the worst post-Godhra massacres in Gujarat, 14 people had been burnt alive in Vadodara on March 1, 2002 when a mob torched the bakery, owned by a Muslim family.

AHMEDABAD: Birdflu among chickens has been confirmed in Surat district of Gujarat, official sources said on Saturday.
"The avian flu has been detected among some chickens from one poultry farm in Utchal taluka. It was confirmed by the Union government on two samples out of thirteen that we had sent from the region...," Gujarat Secretary for Breeding and Protection D K Rao said.
