There was an increased allocation of Rs 162.01 crore for sports in the budget for the next financial year with a major chunk being directed towards the development of infrastructure for the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi.
Out of this allocation, Rs 150 crore has been earmarked for the infrastructure expenditure.
