The RBI has already cleared the merger of CBA with Cosmos Bank. Sources, however, did not divulge the names of other banks citing “interest of depositors” as the reason. Other than CBA, one bank each in Vadodara, Surat and Junagadh are likely to be merged with ‘financially stronger’ banks.
