NRIs get 19-year jail for rape

Two Indian chefs in New Zealand have been sentenced to 19 years in jail for raping a schoolgirl.According to reports here, Kirti Ram, 40, and Manish Kumar Tyagi, 30, who worked in the Two Fat Indians restaurant in Christchurch, were on Tuesday found guilty of raping the 17-year-old girl in their restaurant on January 2 last year.

AIIMS Director Dr P Venugopal was today sacked on charges of violating the code of conduct.The decision came after a meeting chaired by Union Health Minister A Ramadoss passed the resolution for Venugopal's removal.The Governing Body has 17 members. Of the 17, only 15 members were present at the meeting. Of the two who didn't turn up, one was Venugopal himself.
